EXPLORING THE ENGINEER PASS - COLORADO

Rugged trails, alpine views, and the kind of moments that remind us why we explore.

A journey through Colorado’s San Juan Mountains where every turn reveals another unforgettable view.

Every mile brought new views, wildflowers, and unforgettable moments high in the Colorado mountains.

ENGINEER PASS, COLORADO

One of the most breathtaking trails we’ve explored — high alpine views, rugged climbs, and unforgettable moments.

JULY 2025/ COLORADO HIGH COUNTRY

Engineer Pass isn’t just a trail — it’s an experience that stays with you long after the dust settles.

This was part of our Colorado journey in July, a trip that took us through multiple mountain passes, alpine valleys, and remote backcountry routes. But Engineer Pass stood out in a way that’s hard to put into words. High above sea level, surrounded by rugged peaks and wide-open skies, every mile demanded respect — from the terrain, the weather, and the mountain itself.

Steep climbs, narrow shelf roads, and constantly changing conditions made this trail as technical as it was breathtaking. One moment you’re focused on line choice and traction, the next you’re pulling over just to take it all in — snow-capped peaks, wild alpine views, and silence broken only by wind and tires on rock.

This wasn’t about rushing through a destination. It was about slowing down, trusting the build, and earning every view along the way. Engineer Pass reminded us why we do this — for the challenge, the connection to the trail, and the stories that only places like this can give you.

EVERY TRAIL LEAVES A MARK. THIS ONE LEFT A STORY.

Trail Highlights

PeeWee Crossing was one of the trails we explored at Southern Missouri Off-Road Ranch (SMORR), and it turned out to be a really fun introduction to wheeling in the park. It’s actually one of the longest trails there and a great starting point for anyone getting familiar with the terrain.

The trail follows a rocky creekbed as it runs from the north end of the park to the south end, eventually connecting back to Ranch Road. It’s often considered an alternative route through the park, and along the way you’ll find several bypasses as well as two official obstacles that make things interesting without being overly difficult.

PeeWee Crossing APRIL - 2025

What makes PeeWee Crossing great for beginners and novice off-roaders is that you can challenge yourself while still having options to go around some of the bigger ledges. Depending on recent rainfall, the creekbed can be very dry or have some water flowing through it, which changes the feel of the trail quite a bit.

A Trail Worth Exploring

Another cool part about this trail is that several other trails branch off and drop down onto PeeWee Crossing, offering different levels of difficulty if you're ready to take things a step further.

For us, it was the perfect trail to explore with Tilikum 392 and another great reminder that, EVERY TRAIL BRINGS A NEW ADVENTURE!

San Rafael Swell, Utah

After attending Easter Jeep Safari 2024, we continued the adventure into the wild beauty of San Rafael Swell. This trip marked Tilikum 392’s first long-distance journey out west, making it an unforgettable part of our story. From rugged terrain to breathtaking desert views, San Rafael Swell gave us the chance to truly experience what this build was made for. It was more than just a stop after an event — it was the beginning of a whole new chapter of exploration, freedom, and adventure on the trail.
